Nicknamed the “Queen City”, Charlotte is one of the fastest growing cities in the nation, as well as the country’s #23 DMA. Charlotte’s population as of 2010 is 731,424, making it the 17th largest city in the US, while the thirteen-county metropolitan area has an estimated population of 2,389,763.
Charlotte is the second largest banking center in the US after New York City, with Bank of America, one of the nations largest banking institutions, calling the city home. Other large corporate headquarters located in the Charlotte area include: Lowe’s, Duke Energy, Goodrich Corporation, Compass Group USA, and Coca-Cola Bottling Co. to name a few. Charlotte will also become the regional headquarters for East Coast Operations of Wells Fargo by the end of 2011.
Titan has the exclusive rights to the Charlotte Area Transit System (CATS) whose network includes Buses and Light Rail. Titan offers interior and exterior advertising on CATS buses and exterior advertising on the light rail system (LYNX Blue Line).
The LYNX Blue Line, the region’s first light rail service, is also a fairly new addition to the region’s public transit system, having started service in 2007. Overall, CATS provides transport to 25 million people annually with 70 bus and light rail routes.
